Program Objectives

The objective of the program is to educate early childhood education teachers not only with an interest in contributing to the current educational system, but also with an awareness to career development under constantly developing circumstances. The program prioritizes educating early childhood education teachers with self-development, internalizing values of information society, producing solutions to educational problems in the light of science, generating knowledge and applying it to the field, and being an effective role-model to the students.

The Department of Pre-school Education was founded in 2013 and started education at the beginning of 2013-2014 academic year.

Admission and Registration Requirements

The undergraduate programme of the Department of Pre-school Education admits 50 students every year based on the results of the Central Placement Examination administered by ÖSYM. The candidates are placed in the programme according to their YGS-5 scores, their own preferences and the requirements and quotas of the programme. Registration and admission of the students are executed by the Students Affairs Office in accordance with the calendar determined by ÖSYM.

Double Major–Minor Programs

In accordance with the guidelines of the Bachelor’s Degree Education-Training and Examination Regulations, successful students who are studying a major degree in the Department Of Pre-school Education can apply for a minor program in another department. Upon successful completion of the Pre-school Education Program, students are awarded with a certificate for this minor program along with a Bachelor’s Degree in Pre-school Education Program.

Successful students in the Department of Pre-school Education also have the opportunity to graduate in a double major program. The second major can be in any field. Students who meet the necessary conditions and fulfill the necessary requirements can graduate from both departments by acquiring two distinct Bachelor’s Degrees.

Students in the Department of Pre-school Education have a field experience in Kultur College.







Graduation Requirements

To obtain a BA degree in Pre-school Education, students should complete the required credits (240 ECTS) with a  minimum of 2.0 GPA over 4.0.





International Cooperations

Erasmus Program is a European Union program to encourage European Colleges and Universities to cooperate with each other. Unlimited financial support is provided for Colleges and Universities to generate and implement common projects with each other and to make students and staff exchanges with each other for short time periods. The students have the chance to become an exchange student in a University in a European country which has an agreement with our university inside 1 academic year for 1 or 2 (3-12 months) semesters and to get financial support for the time of their stay abroad.





Occupational Profiles Of Graduates

Graduates of Department of Pre-school Education program are qualified to work as early childhood education teachers at public and private schools, technical and vocational high schools for girls, rehabilitation centers, and special education institutions.





Access to Further Studies

The Department of Pre-school Education Program has no MA or PhD program yet.
