Program Objectives
Nursing education aims to contribute to the training of competent nurses who will protect and improve the health of individuals of all ages, families, groups, and society, provide individual-centered care in case of illness, think holistically and humanitarian, act by ethical principles, respect fundamental human rights and freedoms, know teamwork, adopt evidence-based practices, think critically, research, and use effective communication skills.
Objectives
The aim of this program is to train professional nurses who use the nursing process for the purpose and goal to of providing individual-centered quality care, following current developments, applying nursing care based on evidence, leading interdisciplinary health teams, using effective communication skills, taking part in studies to formulate policies related to nursing, are innovative, adhere to ethical principles and professional values, are based on lifelong learning, research, and have the highest level of human values.
Establishment The establishment of Istanbul Kultur University Faculty of Health Sciences Nursing Department was decided by the decision of Istanbul Kultur University Senate dated 25.10.2018 and numbered 2018-2019/5. The department, which received the approval of the Higher Education Council on 03.04.2019, started its active academic life with 15 full scholarship students in the 2019-2020 academic year.
Qualification Awarded A bachelor's degree in Nursing is awarded to students who have successfully completed all the courses in the four-year education plan and have at least 240 ECTS.
Language of Instruction The language of instruction in our department is Turkish.
Mode of Education Full time.
Admission and Registration Requirements Students are admitted to the Nursing Department with the Central Placement Exam conducted by ÖSYM. In Central Placement, candidates are placed in the Department of Nursing by OSYM, taking into account their numerical scores, preferences for higher education programs, and the quota and conditions of these programs. The registration of students placed in the Nursing Department is made by the Registrar's Office within the framework of the calendar determined by OSYM.

Double Major–Minor Programs Students of Istanbul Kultur University Nursing Department have the opportunity to do minor and MIP programs with all departments of our university.
Undergraduate students can apply to the Double Major Program (DMP) at the beginning of the third semester at the earliest and at the beginning of the fifth semester at the latest, provided that their GPA is at least 3.00. The application conditions are determined by the departments/programs. Applications to participate in the ÇAP are made to the two relevant departments/programs at the same time. Admission to the CAP takes place with the proposal of the relevant departments and the decision of the relevant board or boards. DAP is carried out under the supervision of a consultant from both departments/programs.
Internship Students of the Department of Nursing perform their compulsory internships in the institutions within the internship pool created by our department in order to get to know the fields they are interested in and want to work in the future and to gain experience, taking into account the suggestions of the internship coordinator.
Graduation RequirementsTo achieve a minimum GPA of 2.00 out of 4.00 to successfully complete all 240 ECTS courses available in the program.

Access to Further Studies Procedures and principles to be applied in order to transfer from undergraduate programs to postgraduate and doctoral programs are specified in the 4th article of Istanbul Kultur University Postgraduate Education and Examination Regulations.

At the same time, graduates of the department can do master's and doctorate degrees in universities in Turkey / abroad related to their fields.
Departmental FacilitiesAre 1 (one) associate professor, 3 (three) doctoral lecturers and 2 (two) research assistants working full time in the nursing department and who are experts in their fields. In addition, lectures are given by faculty members working at various universities and institutions in order to increase the course content offered.
In our department, there are 2 (two) seminar-meeting rooms, 3 (three) offices and five (5) student laboratories, namely Nursing Basic Education, Nursing Skills (Simulation), Anatomy, Microbiology and Physiology, which they will use for student laboratory practices.
