Program Objectives
Department of Business Administration is committed to following the developments in the field of business administration. Knowledge and experiences gained by this commitment are reflected in undergraduate and graduate programs, which offer an update and high quality education to students. Besides, short term training programs intended to serve business purposes contribute to their continuous development. The ultimate aim is to equip the students with the necessary knowledge and skills, communication competence, and raise them as interrogative and enlightened individuals possessing entrepreneurial and leadership skills who can defend their ideas, and speak at least one foreign language. As a component of an institution with a 40 year tradition in education, the university aims at sustaining its esteem and academic reliability.
Establishmentİstanbul Kültür University, founded on 15th of July, 1997 in accordance with the Article Numbered 4281, accepted first students in 1997-1998 academic year by the foundation of the Faculty of Economic and Administrative Sciences and Department of Business Administration with Dean Prof. Senih Aşan.

Qualification AwardedStudents who fulfill the requirements of the four year undergraduate program and get 240 ECTS credits receive their Degree in Business Administration
Language of Instruction The medium of education is Turkish at the Derpartment of Business Administration where the preparatory year is optional.

Double Major–Minor ProgramsThe double-major program means education in both of the departments at the same time and hence proficiency in a wider scope and job opportunities in a wider market. Istanbul Kultur University offers the opportunity to attend the double major program for its high up students.

The students who successfully accomplished the double major program hold both of the Bachelor of Art Degrees.
In the Department of Business Administration, the double major program is pursued by the Department of Economics, Department of Mathematics and Computer Sciences and Department of Industrial Engineering whose course schedule is the closest among other departments for the Business Administration.
Students of Business Administration Department have the opportunity to attend Minor programs of Psychology, Public Relations, Advertising, English Language and Literature, International Relations and Economics Departments. The students who successfully accomplished the minor programs could receive Minor Program Certificate of these programs.
InternshipThere is no compulsory internship.
Graduation RequirementsAccording to the 2010-2011 Academic Years' requirements, students who accomplish 240 ECTS (minimum 2.00 Grade Point Average over 4.00) can have the right to receive their Undergraduate Diploma
International CooperationsThe International Cooperations Department has Erasmus agreements with more than 35 countries including Greece, Germany, Austria, Denmark, Hungary, Slovakia, Sweden, Holland, Italy, Spain, Switzerland, Romania, Estonia, Lithuania, Letonia, France and Poland. Since 2004, Business Administration Department has been the pioneer in terms of sending Erasmus students to spend either one term or a year at European Universities. Additionally, BA Department is the most active Department at the University, not only student but also staff mobility.

Access to Further Studies Business Administration Department offers two graduate programs one of which is with thesis and the other is non-thesis as 'MBA' and 'Quality-Production Management' fields.

Istanbul Kultur University Business Administration Department also offers a MA degree which can be completed with or without writing a thesis. Aiming to provide its students with an analytical outlook to current international relations, the program includes courses offered by expert academicians, retired diplomats and active journalists. The focus of the MA program lies extensively on diplomacy and the graduates of the program are especially prepared for positions in international organizations and in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Departmental FacilitiesAcademic Counselling System is one of the leading properties of the Buiness Administration Department. Academic Counsellers appointed upon the registration for the departments, follows up the students till graduation in various phases. They support the students to discover their interests and skills; in course selections, double major-minor program orientations and also in adaptation to the university.
IKU accepts students for 32 undergraduate degree programs that are included by five faculties and two vocational schools. Also, 14 postgraduate and graduate programs maintained in Social Sciences Institute and Science Institute.
Distinguished Academic Staff and Academic Counselling
Istanbul Kültür University’s academic staff consists of 245 professors, 216 lecturers, 119 research assistants and 58 instructors. The high rate of full time academists provides students to study one to one with the lecturers after the classes. In Istanbul Kültür University, one lecturer is responsible per 10 students.
All lecturers are well-known with their scientific activities in their fields. Although they intensely maintain their research and publishing activities on academic and professional magazines, they give priority to their students’ professional development.

In Istanbul Kültür University, Associate Degree, Undergraduate Degree, Graduate Degree and Postgraduate Degree students are provided with academic advising.
The students meet their advisors during registration period.Advisors follow their students’ academic success, help them with their social life development and guide them to adjust university life easily. They also share their professional experiences with the students.
The students and their families can meet with advisors and directors of departments by getting an appointment, they can take advantage of Academic Advising practises, and also they can get information and opinion about the student’s academic and social improvement.
