Program Objectives

 

For the flight operation management to be carried out safely, the need for staff to plan, implement, monitor and control flight operations, to request responsible pilots or to inform the flight team when necessary, to monitor flight flow and to transmit emergency information to necessary units.

  In order to grow the aviation sector in our country every day, Flight Operations Management program was opened at Kultur University.





Establishment

 As of 2018, Istanbul Kültür University started to teach under the name of "Flight Operations Manager" in the Department of Vocational School.







Qualification Awarded

 Associate Degree
Culture University Flight Operations Management program training period is 2 years. In our associate degree program; course content will include basic field courses such as communication and navigational aids, basic operation performance, air traffic rules and ground handling, punctuation and control, aircraft weight and balance, aerodynamics and basic aircraft knowledge. Besides these courses; management based courses and sectoral applications in aviation.

Mode of Education

 The student who graduated from the Flight Operations Management program is awarded a pre-degree diploma in the field of Flight Operations Manager.
Graduated from the program, students can find jobs in airline companies (passenger - cargo) and representation / surveillance companies. After becoming a license holder approved by civil aviation, it will also be able to serve as a Flight Operations Specialist (Dispatcher) who performs Flight Operations Management.





Admission and Registration Requirements

Forty students are accepted to the Flight Operations Management Program through the Central Placement Exam conducted by ÖSYM.
Candidates for the Center Placement are placed in the Flight Operations Management Program with ÖSYM taking into account the TYT scores, preferences regarding higher education programs and the quotas and conditions of these programs.
The records of the students who are placed in the Air Logistics Program are carried out by the Student Affairs Office on the calendar frame determined by ÖSYM.

Double Major–Minor Programs

 Students of the Flight Operations Management  program have a Double Major with other associate degree programs.  A 40 day internship is an obligatory.







Graduation Requirements

 Students,Flight Operations Program available in a total of 120 ECTS to successfully complete all courses of 4.00 to obtain a CGPA of at least 2.00 is required.

The aim of establishing the IKU flight operations management program is to be regarded as one of the most responsible professions in the airline responsible for planning, implementing, monitoring, managing and controlling all kinds of civil aviation vehicle flight operations in accordance with national and international civil aviation standards in the future





Access to Further Studies

 

According to the "Implementing Regulation on the Continuation of Undergraduate Education of Vocational Schools Graduates" published in the Official Gazette dated 19.02.2002 and numbered 24676 and the application principles determined by the Council of Higher Education on the transition to undergraduate education and examinations and placement related to the graduation of successful students graduating from Vocational Schools operations are carried out by ÖSYM

After completing their undergraduate education, our students have the opportunity to enter the Vertical Transfer Exam and continue their education at the graduate level. Graduates who want to continue their education abroad can join the undergraduate completion programs by reading the 3rd and 4th semester courses abroad in accordance with the protocols of Istanbul Kültür University with the universities abroad. Transitionable sections; Air Traffic Control, Pilotage, Aviation Management.





Departmental Facilities

Education at the Incirli Campus of Vocational School of Istanbul Kültür University is continuing.
  This campus also has a large computer lab that offers the facilities of modern technology to its students.







Program Activities

 In the İKÜ area, students will graduate as self-confident, responsible individuals who will keep the aviation industry dynamic, as well as theoretical courses, practical trainings, sector visits, seminars, conferences, interviews with experts in the field and career days and our students are informed of business safety and ethics
