Program Objectives

Digital communication has become an alternative and effective channel for organizations in their communication with their target audiences due to its features such as speed, interaction, easy analysis & reporting, etc. In today's conditions where competition is getting harder every day and the importance given to marketing communication is increasing day by day. Therefore, the need for employees who can manage this effective channel / communication, create interaction and manage processes in the digital field is increasing day by day. In the digitalizing world, the need for a workforce that can use and manage digital communication practices is increasing day by day. E-Commerce and Marketing Program is an associate's degree program prepared by taking into account all current details about digital based on this need. During the 2-year education period, our students; e-commerce, websites, mobile marketing, digital advertising, digital media planning, social media, search engine optimization, big data, digital analysis and measurement, etc. It prepares for the sector in many more subjects.

Establishment

E-Commerce and Marketing Program was opened for the first time at the associate degree level in Turkey in 2019-2020 academic year at Istanbul Kültür University Vocational School under the name of Digital Media and Marketing and had the opportunity to meet its first students. The name of the program was changed to "E-Commerce and Marketing" by the Higher Education Council in the 2020-2021 academic year.





Qualification Awarded

In order to successfully complete all of the courses in the E-Commerce and Marketing Program for a total of 120 ECTS and graduate, students must have a GPA of at least 2.00 out of 4.00. Admission and Registration Requirements

 Students are admitted to Vocational School programs with the Central Placement Exam conducted by OSYM. In Central Placement, candidates are placed in the E-Commerce and Marketing Program by ÖSYM, taking into account their preferences regarding higher education programs and the quotas and conditions of these programs. The registrations of the students placed in the E-Commerce and Marketing Program are made by the Student Affairs Department within the framework of the calendar determined by ÖSYM.

Double Major–Minor Programs

 Students who want to expand their areas of specialization can complete double major diploma programs.





Internship

 In today's global world, the level of development of countries is measured by their knowledge and educated human resources. Unemployment is one of the most important problems in Turkey. On the other hand, the fact that there are companies in need of qualified personnel is an equally important issue. It is the job of educators to transform our young population, which is one of the greatest assets of our country, into educated and business-savvy people to meet this need. Internship, that is, workplace practices, which are included in the graduation requirement of each student within our vocational school, is the work experience that our students gain by working for a certain period of time in the organizations selected in accordance with the programs they receive their education. This period has been decided to be 40 working days depending on the regulations of our school. Internship offers our students the opportunity to get to know business life and to see the application areas of the theoretical knowledge they receive in their programs.







Graduation Requirements

 In addition, students are required to do a compulsory internship for 40 working days.

 Students also have the opportunity to complete their undergraduate studies and internships abroad through ERASMUS.

Access to Further Studies

 In accordance with the "Regulation on the Continuation of Vocational Schools Graduates to Undergraduate Education" published in the Official Gazette dated 19.02.2002 and numbered 24676 and the application principles determined by the Council of Higher Education, the examination and placement procedures related to the vertical transfer of successful students graduating from Vocational Schools programs to formal education undergraduate programs are carried out by ÖSYM. 4-year programs that can be transferred with DGS       Economics and Finance, Public Relations and Advertising, Public Relations and Publicity, Communication, Communication Sciences, Business Administration, Logistics Management, Marketing, Advertising Design and Communication, Advertising, International Business Management, International Trade, International Trade and Finance, International Trade and Management, International Trade and Logistics, Electronic Trade and Management, Accounting and Financial Management    





Departmental Facilities

Istanbul Kültür University Vocational School continues its education at İncirli Campus. This campus, which offers the possibilities of modern technology to its students, also has a large computer laboratory.





Program Activities

The E-Commerce and Marketing program organizes events during the semester to introduce students to experts in the field, to enable them to make connections and to discuss current issues in the sector through examples
