Course Goals
This course aims to provide students with the conceptual frameworks and case studies to understand, have an insight, skills for analysis and evolution the landmarks and critical components of the Turkish political and social life. These perspectives will help students approach the events, dynamics, and actors in Turkish politics critically This course focuses on contemporary issues in Turkey. Starting the analysis with the 1980s coup detat, and accepting it as one of the prominent turning points, this course will cover its impact on political and social life in Turkey. Afterwards, it will bring the date closer to today by digging the Turkey’s journey in the 2000s.
