Course Goals
The aim of this course is to familiarize  students with the concepts, terminology and methods of linguistic terms and analysis and enable them to have an understanding of the structure of human languages and the basic principles that underlie it. Comparison of languages through the analysis of data selected from several languages, mainly English and Turkish, is exploited to enhance the students’ comprehension of the differences among languages as well as the universal aspects of grammar.

Teaching Methods and Techniques Online. Lecture based. Upon covering every chapter, there will be a review discussion among students. Some sessions students will be asked to give presentations on the chapter or chapters covered.

Other Sources  Some articles related to the chapter(s) covered will be either covered or assigned as a term project to be done by the students. Some unique video lectures delivered by the talked-about scientists of the field will be displayed by the lecturer to be debated or discussed by the students.
