Course Goals
The course aims at familiarizing with how to read and write critically. Together with that, the course is teaching ELT students on how to apply those rules doing a critical reading of different articles related to the field of Second Language Education (SLE), synthesizing and incorporating information from those sources by using paraphrasing and summarizing skills. While this course aims at improving students’ academic writing skills by critical reading, critical thinking and guided writing activities, it also sheds light on academic language to produce a coherent academic text.
