Course Goals
Ultimate aim of this course is to raise an awareness on the necessity of undertaking projects not having only economic impact but also having social value. Also enabling course participants to think some basic problems that have not yet been solved, but to be solved and to produce innovative solutions through developing new projects are among the aims of this course. In this capacity, it is aimed to understand the value of social entrepreneuship,realize some associations with other concepts and detecting specific differences.Also, creating social value and contributing to dissipate that value country-wide and at later stages world-wide would be the main topics of the course.

Program Outcomes
PO-1Comprehends both theoretical and applied subjects in international trade at the advanced level, and uses his/her knowledge when necessary.
PO-2Analyses basic concepts and data related to International Trade and Economics by scientific methods, interprets those with analytically, and evaluates those with regard to economic issues.
PO-3Express his/her thoughts, comments and evaluations related to International Trade discipline both in written and oral forms.
PO-4Defines current problems, and proposes solutions which are supported by evidence and research based quantitative and qualitative data.
PO-5Inspects how public and private sector enterprises engaged in trade activities operates in practice, and evaluates the continuities and the dynamism in these sectors.
PO-6Defines and tracks local, regional (such as European Union or Middle East) and global issues from the point of political economics, and relates these issues to each other.

Learning Outcomes
LO-1Having a solid grasp of conceptual framework on social entrepreneurship.
LO-2Realize the critical role of social entrepreneurship in solving fundamental problems of the world and being a part of any creative and innovative initiative for the solutions of these problems.
LO-3Beside absorbing the methodology of entrepreneurship, being equipped with fundamental knowledge, important skills and relevant competencies for being a social entrepreneur.
LO-4Will be able to measure the impact of existing social enterprises and analyze them using relevant techniques.
LO-5In todays world of obsessive consumption and of emerging need to persevere the resources for the sake of the humanity, students will go beyond the short-term mentality and start to think about what is possible in the long term and will experience a paradigm shift.
