Course Goals	Basic characteristics of microorganisms, basic knowledge on laboratory diagnosis and basic application principles of the formation, treatment and prevention methods of diseases caused by microorganisms. To ensure that healthcare-associated infections and sterilization, disinfection, antisepsis practices are comprehended with their principles and applications.

Learning Outcomes LO-1 Knows the basic structure and general properties of all microorganisms and the most important of these microorganisms. LO-2 Knows the use of microscope and basic features of the methods used in the microbiology laboratory. LO-3 Knows and explains the roles of microorganisms in disease formation. LO-4 Knows, explains and interprets the spread of microorganisms and preventive measures and can apply them to various situations. LO-5 Knows sterilization, antisepsis and disinfection methods, knows the details about application and control. LO-6 Knows and applies the use of personal protective equipment. LO-7 Knows the subject of hand hygiene, applies it effectively and plays an active role in the establishment of this practice in work areas.
