Course Goals

In this course, the basic concepts and applications of semiotics (architecture, art, literature, advertising, caricatures, etc.) will be examined. At the same time, by analyzing the meanings attributed to the interior architecture, it is aimed to adopt and provide students the concept of creativity in design. It is the evaluation of the meanings attributed to the visual culture through communication and space.

Program Outcomes
PO-1PÇ1. Within the architectural discipline,has local,regional, national and international knowledge regarding different space planning issues related to interior architectural design and planning.
PO-2PÇ2. Owns to set up a substructure for design proposals for people and community oriented , cultural sensitible and environmental genesis in the related field.
PO-3PÇ3. Improves skill in developing design concept and planning. Acquaint with defining and investigating special problems on different space planning and design issues.

Learning Outcomes
LO-1Will be able to distinguish the concepts of semiotics, to define the indicators which are used in semiotics.
LO-2Will be able to establish the connection between semiotics and other disciplines of social sciences, to evaluate the evolution of semiotics, semiotic practices in different areas.
LO-3Will be able to detect differences in approaches to semiotics-leading theorists and their methods of analysis by examining the implement.
LO-4Will be able to analyze texts as semiotic, linguistic and visual indicators, and re-create the original texts.
LO-5Will be able to iınterpret cultural indicators, social indicators which are Based on theoretical approaches to evaluate fundamental contradictions within the framework of the preliminary information which is obtained to present a critical perspective
