This special topics course teaches a basic understanding of ERP through the application of business process modeling methodologies to all core enterprise areas. Students will learn how to create and change business process models for logistics and back office functions. A strong emphasis throughout the course will be placed on the understanding of the SAP ERP system through hands-on experience with the system. There are well over 100 lab exercises to ensure that students are proficient in the use of the SAP ERP system by the end of the course.
There are a number of specific objectives for the course:
- Understand the role of ERP within a company.
- Understand the underlying business processes that are reflected in ERP software.
- Gain the ability to model and improve real-life business processes for reengineering and ERP implementation projects.
- Understand the integration between different ERP modules.
- Learn how to use the SAP ERP system MM, SD, PP, FI, CO and HR (at least two of them) modules through hands-on exercises.
