The course aims at outlining Turkish dialects in terms of history, geography, and linguistic, as being a part of the whole. Turkish dialects began to appear in the First Turkish, Proto-Turkic, and Old Turkish period, and were result of dialects differences. In addition, the goal of this course is to dwell upon the classification methods and criteria, and especially to give general and basic information about Turkish language and dialects, which were found as a small and isolated group, and their syntax properties. In this way, the students are able to address the syntax properties of other contemporary Turkish written language and dialects that are involved in main groups such as Oghuz, Chagatai, and Kipchak group.

The doctoral students collect the theoretical, practical information, and texts according to the department’s special method; they interpret them and attain a synthesis by making the interdisciplinary analyses.

The students are able to grasp the historical and cultural basis of the Turkish world literature in classical period; they recognize the features of the texts’ language of this period and evaluate in terms of literary. In addition, the students recognize the scientific and sufistic works created in the collective cultural geography.

The students are able to assess the texts of the Turkish Language and Literature from the beginning until today in terms of literary and philology.
