Program Objectives

The aim of the Associate Degree Program in Aircraft Technology at Istanbul Kültür University is to train qualified technical personnel who have acquired the necessary professional competencies in response to the diverse needs of the aviation sector, particularly in aircraft maintenance and repair, in line with scientific and technological developments. The curriculum is designed to meet the current needs of the industry and is continuously updated within the framework set by the Sivil Havacılık Genel Müdürlüğü (SHGM), which is the competent authority in the field of aviation.

In the two-year education plan, students initially take general courses such as Atatürk İlkeleri ve İnklap Tarihi and Türkçe, along with Aviation English courses, given the international nature of the aviation sector. This is followed by fundamental technical courses in Mathematics and Physics to develop analytical skills and the ability to comprehend technical subjects. The core focus of the education is on aircraft maintenance and repair process courses, which are planned in accordance with the Modular system determined by the Sivil Havacılık Genel Müdürlüğü (SHGM).

The course contents cover technical modules such as Electrical Fundamentals, Electronic Fundamentals, Aerodynamics, Aircraft Materials and Equipment, Digital and Electronic Systems, Gas Turbine Engines, Turbine Aircraft Structures and Systems, and Propeller Systems. Additionally, subjects like Civil Aviation Law and Human Factors are included to ensure students are well-versed in relevant areas. Moreover, Selective Area (SA) courses are offered to enable students to broaden their perspectives and keep up with the current technical and planning agendas within the aviation sector.

Overall, the Aircraft Technology Program aims to produce technical personnel who have developed their core competencies, possess specialized knowledge in their field, keep themselves updated with current trends, and can easily adapt to the needs of various departments within the aviation industry, particularly in the field of maintenance and repair.
