Program Objectives
IKU Master of Science in Architectural Engineering program in Department of Architecture targeted training of architects having necessary knowledge and skills, to integrate building super structure with the sub-systems, solving the problems encountered from design phase to construction and facility phase. In this program, it is aimed to train professional people having high technical expertise on service systems, structural systems etc. In a complex building, due to the importance of system interactions in building quality and performance, it is essential to use different systems (service systems, structural systems etc) efficiently and accurately and integrating within the systems. In this context it is expected from the architects having a professional role in the sector, being able to asses, select and integrate environmental factors and using these data in building design.

International Cooperations Erasmus is an education and training program, aiming a common modernization and coherence of graduate education in EU countries and in countries which are in EU membership process, enabling students to study and work abroad, as well as supporting cooperation among graduate education institutions across Europe. As in other EU countries, graduate students in Turkey have the right to use student mobility or work placement opportunities once, if they have an Erasmus grant; and more than once if they do not have Erasmus grants. Graduate level, in particular, is a preferred stage for exchange, with its flexible and individualistic character for all countries.
IKU Master of Architecture Program has 22 notable Erasmus partner universities in Europe, which are listed below:

Graduate students, who are interested in Erasmus Student Mobility, are selected according to both their Erasmus Grades (which is determined according to their cumulative GPA’s and and the results of their foreign language examination, organized by our University), and their order of preference of the partner universities. After this selection phase, the candidate students have the privilege to select one of our Erasmus Partner European Universities, according to their fields of interest and continue to develop their theses with a supervisor from the hosting university for one or two semesters, as a part of their graduate education at IKU.
In addition, within the framework of Erasmus Staff Exchange Program, many international scholars visit our Master of Architecture Program to give lectures on their specialization areas.
Through Common Educational Studies within Erasmus Program, higher number of students have the chance to get involved within common courses, laboratory and workshop studies held mutually and coordinated in parallel with our Erasmus Partner Universities. Within this context, our Master of Architecture Program has realized many studies successfully in Turkey and abroad.
As a result, Erasmus and Other International Common Studies are accepted as an integral part of our Master of Architecture Program, raising it to an international level, together with our students and our educational staff, aiming to become beneficial for all of our graduate students.
