Program Objectives
The goal of the Psychological Counseling and Guidance program is to educate consultants who can, at the end of the four-year theoretical and applied program, not only apply mechanical and technical aspects of their field but also learn and apply the aspects of their profession such as sincerity, devotion, ethics, mentorship and leadership.
One of the major goals of the program is to discipline psychological counselors who can contribute to the knowledge in the field and who are qualified to put the theoretical knowledge into use, continually progress, possess skills to provide solutions, approach matters from various perspectives, and to educate counselors who are creative and critical thinkers that can lead the field.

Admission and Registration Requirements80 students who susccessfully complete the test administered by the Central Placement Exam under the provision of ÖSYM are accepted to the department of Psychological Counseling and Guidance.
In the Central Placement System candidates are placed by the ÖSYM according to their LYS points and with respect to their preferences and as long as the quotas and the provisions of the program allow. Sudents are enrolled by the department of Student Affairs within the time table provided by the ÖSYM.
Double Major–Minor ProgramsAccording to the regulations of the Bachelor’s Degree Education and Exams, students contiunuing successfully at the department of Psychological Counseling and Guidance are granted for a double major at their preference beginning in the Fall of 2013-2014 academic year. Those students who are enrolled to the Psychological Counseling and Guidance program and are successsful in a minor program are granted the diploma of Psychological Counseling and Guidance and a Minor Program Certificate.
InternshipContinuing students at the department of Psychological Counseling and Guidance can gain clinical experience at Kültür Educaional Institutions by attending applied courses. It is mandatory to do their internships at their field starting from the third year of their education.
Graduation RequirementsTo obtain a BA degree in Guidance and Psychological Cunselling, students should complete the required credits (240 ECTS) with a minimum of 2.0 GPA over 4.0.
International CooperationsERASMUS exchange program is a service that facilitates colloboration within the Higher Education Institutions of Europe. It funds projects jointly run by Higher Education Institutions and supports short term student and staff exchange. Students at the Psychological Counseling and Guidance program can benefit from the funds to become an exchange student in a Europen Higher Education Institution.
Occupational Profiles Of GraduatesGraduates of the Psychological Counseling and Guidance program can get hired at state schools associated with the Ministry of Education, at private schools, at Guidence Research Centers, at Psychological Counseling Centers, Private Tutoring Centers, or at Kindergartens as Psychological Counselors. They can as well serve at Rehabilitation Centers, Special Education and Counseling Centers, Family Courts, at the Human Resources departments of private companies, at Health Services, Soical Welfare Institutions, Law and Security firms and Industrial Businesses.
Access to Further Studies At this point Master’s and PhD. Degrees are not offered at the Psychological Counseling and Guidance program.
Departmental FacilitiesStarting from their first year it is made possible for the students of the department of Psychological Counseling and Guidance to benefit from the observations and applications at Kültür Educational Instituions.
Program Activities International Pre-school Congress will be held in May,2014 in collaboration with the Department of Pre-school Education.
Special Education and Awareness Days took place in March, 2017 with the participation of students from Departments of Psychological Counseling and Guidance.
