Program Objectives
It is an academic field that synthesizes topics such as people, technology, information management, and systems theory within the broader context of information systems and business. In this framework, our aim is to equip students with the knowledge, skills, and competencies necessary to plan IT infrastructures, determine the required hardware, software, and personnel, establish systems, and develop solutions to problems encountered during system operation.
EstablishmentOn March 6, 2025, the Senate of Istanbul Kültür University unanimously approved the establishment of the Department of Management Information Systems (English) under the Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences. Our department will admit its first students in the 2025–2026 academic year.
Qualification AwardedStudents who successfully complete the courses included in the curriculum and achieve a minimum cumulative grade point average (CGPA) of 2.00 out of 4.00 are eligible to receive a bachelor's degree.
In order to graduate from the Department of Management Information Systems, students must complete 240 ECTS credits in accordance with the rules regarding compulsory and elective courses in the curriculum.

Language of Instruction The language of instruction is English.
Foreign language courses, including English, German, French, Russian, Chinese, and Spanish, are offered throughout the 8 semesters.

Mode of EducationThe academic staff of the Management Information Systems Department consists of full-time and part-time (hourly-paid) faculty members. The official working hours for full-time faculty members are from 09:00 to 18:00.
Admission and Registration RequirementsStudents are admitted to the Department of Management Information Systems through the Central Placement Examination conducted by ÖSYM, based on the quota determined each year.

In addition, international students are also admitted to the Department of Management Information Systems in accordance with the Regulations on Admission and Registration of International Students to Associate and Undergraduate Programs of Istanbul Kültür University.
The registration of students placed in the Department of Management Information Systems is carried out by the Student Affairs Office of Istanbul Kültür University, in line with the calendar set by ÖSYM.

Double Major–Minor ProgramsSuccessful students enrolled in any undergraduate program at our university may pursue a Double Major Program in another department of their choice, based on the evaluation of applications submitted during designated periods of their studies. Students who successfully complete the Double Major Program and fulfill the graduation requirements of both departments are awarded two separate Bachelor's Diplomas.
According to the provisions of the Istanbul Kültür University Undergraduate Education and Examination Regulations, successful students may also partially participate in the undergraduate curriculum of another department within a specific framework. This educational opportunity is called a Minor Program. Students who successfully complete a Minor Program in addition to their main field of study are awarded a Minor Certificate along with their Bachelor's Diploma.

InternshipThere is no mandatory internship requirement in the Department of Management Information Systems. However, students are supported in finding internship opportunities through the Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences Internship Commission.

Occupational Profiles Of GraduatesGraduates of the Department of Management Information Systems generally work in fields that combine business, management, and computer technologies. They can be employed in IT departments of private or public institutions, system development or project management units, software companies, and consulting firms.
Access to Further Studies Students who successfully complete this program may apply for a second cycle degree (master's) or directly to integrated third cycle (doctoral) programs.

Departmental FacilitiesIn addition to opportunities such as Double Major, Minor, student mobility, and internships, the Academic Advising System is one of the strongest aspects of the Department of Management Information Systems. Upon enrollment, each student is assigned an academic advisor who guides and supports them throughout their studies until graduation.
Advisors assist students in discovering their interests and talents, making informed course selections, exploring minor and double major options, and adapting to university life.
