This course aims to provide students the essential tools and the concepts of economic growth, economic development, poverty and income distribution, economic challenges facing the world’s impoverished and developing economies in general, and what practical and effective policies can be implemented to address these challenges. It explores diverse dimension and measures of development, as well as the application of microeconomic analysis to issues of development in countries, including the study of household decisions and the analysis of institutions and norms influencing development. In this way, it is intended that students have the equipment to discuss the different growth and development experiences of the countries and in Turkey.
