Course Goals

In this course, the reflection of the concept of housing, which has changed according to social events, needs and culture throughout history, on architecture and interior spaces will be examined. According to the cultural and geographical features, the changes of the housing areas, space planning, the materials used and the construction technique, will be explained.

Teaching Methods and Techniques 1.      Definition of housing and examination of the first housing areas.

2.      Introducing the housing areas shaped by geographical location and material.

3.      Examination of the housing areas of Anatolian civilizations in terms of space planning, material and construction technique.

4.      The effects of changing social life and architectural styles on housing areas.

Examining the changing housing culture with modernization.
