Course Goals
The aim of this course is to introduce students to the basic principles and steps of scriptwriting and to give them an understanding of the structure of a script and what it should include. This is an introductory level class where film and story ideas will be poured into the proper cinematic writing format.

1. Week Finding out about students' previous film and script experiences while explaining the content of the course. Lecture
2. Week What is a script? Who is a scriptwriter? What is the scriptwriting process like and what steps does the scriptwriter have to go through? Lecture
3. Week Discussion on the difference between "story" and "film story" Lecture
4. Week An analysis of how to properly write a synopsis and practice writing different synopsises for different films Practical
