The primary aim of this course is to introduce the students with the definition, history, major concepts of health-illness-wellbeing and developmental process of health psychology division. The course will cover the major theoretical approaches in the field. Throughout this basic knowledge, practical issues about the promotion and maintenance of health and well-being-quality of life, handling and treating chronic disease situations will be discussed within a biopsychosocial perspective and via case presentations.
