Law is a normative science that sets up rules which have coercive effects among individuals. Therefore the first aim of the sociology course to be given to law students is to cause students to gain a sociological view against normative rules, to enhance their awareness, and to develop an objective view against social facts and incidents.
The other important targets of this course are to enable students to use sociological terminology properly, to examine what lies beneath social facts and incidents and finally to understand their society as well as other societies.
