Program Objectives

 The primary aim of the Master's program with a thesis in Electrical and Electronics Engineering is to train our engineers to be creative and able to work in teams that will increase the technological development in our country by providing them with more special and skillful training in areas that require expertise in their business lives. The secondary aim of the program is to educate students equipped with advanced knowledge in the fields of electronics and circuits, digital systems, telecommunications, optics, and electricity, to engage in national and international projects and research and development activities, and to increase the number of patents and utility models. 





Establishment

 As the Electrical and Electronics Engineering Master's Program, it has started to accept students as of the fall semester of the 2018-2019 academic year. 





Qualification Awarded

 Students who successfully complete all courses in the 2-year education plan and have at least 120 ECTS are awarded a Master's degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering





Language of Instruction

 The teaching language is Turkish. 





Mode of Education

 Full time.





Admission and Registration Requirements

 To apply, it is necessary to be a graduate of one of the 4-year Electrical - Electronics Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Electronics-Communications Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Mathematics or Physics undergraduate programs and to have taken ALES within the last three years and get at least 55 numerical points. The success grade in the master's program entrance exam is calculated by adding 25% of the undergraduate GPA, 25% of the interview/science exam, and 50% of the ALES numerical score. For a candidate to be considered successful, he or she must get at least 65 points out of 100.

Double Major–Minor Programs

 Double Major and Minor Programs are not included in the Electrical and Electronics Engineering Thesis Master's Program. 





Internship

 There is no internship in the Electrical and Electronics Engineering Thesis Master's Program.







Graduation Requirements

 To receive a master's degree, students are required to fulfill 1 compulsory course of 9 ECTS, 1 Seminar course of 6 ECTS, 1 Thesis course of 60 ECTS, and 6 elective courses of 9 ECTS. In addition, the Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) must be minimum 2.7 over 4.00 to be successful and to complete the Program.





International Cooperations

 ERASMUS is a European Union based program established to promote collaboration among the higher education institutions of European countries. It provides grants for joint projects and short term student and academic staff exchange programs.  Students have the opportunity to study at a European Union institution and receive financial support during the academic exchange period (one or two terms/ 3 to 12 months).

  IKU-UALR Exchange Program- Students are to benefit from the protocol signed between these two organization to allow them to study one semester at the host university.







Occupational Profiles Of Graduates

 Working as research assistants in universities or holding positions in the private sectors.

Some of the graduates are pursuing advance degrees in the respected fields.
