Program Objectives
The fundamental aim of Educational Administration and Planning M.A. program is to enable individuals working or having interest in educational field to become effective in educational leadership by equipping them with administration knowledge and abilities. It is expected that the graduate students of the program can use theoretical and practical knowledge in problem-solving process, adopt creative and critical thinking and thus contribute to the development of institutions they work for.
Establishment The M.A. programme in Educational Administration and Planning began in 2014.
Qualification Awarded Master of Arts (MA) in Educational Administration and Planning.
Language of Instruction Turkish.
Mode of EducationM.A. Program is conducted between 18:00 and 21:00 on weekdays.
Admission and Registration Requirements Candidates need to hold B.A. from four –year degree programme.
ALES score with a minimum VERBAL score of 55 at any score types. Please note that the ALES must have been taken no more than 3 years prior to the application. ALES score is not required from those who opt to get an MA degree without thesis.
Double Major–Minor ProgramsThere is no Double Major - Minor Programs.
InternshipThere is no internship in the program.
Graduation Requirements To obtain a MA degree in Administration and Planning programme, students should complete the required credits (120 ECTS) with a minimum of 2.70 GPA over 4.0.
In addition to the standard required credits, students of M.A. with thesis must write a dissertation on an approved topic , while the non-thesis M.A. students need to prepare “Semester Project”.

Departmental FacilitiesOur program is being carried out at IKU Ataköy Campus by expert academic staff in its field, who gives theoratical and practical lectures and assignments to enrich their experince in field.
Program Activities Our program's academic calendar includes 28 weeks ( as spring and fall terms , excluding final exam periods). 10 courses are held in total both in fall and spring terms. While the M.A. students with thesis are required to take 4 compulsory and 3 elective courses, the students with non-thesis are required to take 2 compulsory courses and 8 elective courses. In addition to these, the M.A students with thesis are also required to complete seminar and dissertation courses successfully while the non-thesis students are required to finish their semester project to graduate from non-thesis M.A programme.
