Program Objectives
Clinical psychologists who receive their specialization degrees from our master's program are expected to gain knowledge and skills in the following subjects.
• Psychopathological assessment
• Psychotherapeutic relationship and clinical interview techniques
• Being able to perform psychotherapeutic interventions under supervision by applying scientifically supported approaches in the field of psychotherapy
• Professional ethics
• Following, interpreting and criticizing research in the field of psychology
• Research methods
In accordance with the requirements of the new law, students will be trained in the field of psychotherapy under intensive supervision and their academic infrastructure will be strengthened with scientific research they will conduct in thesis or project format in addition to theoretical courses.
EstablishmentThe Clinical Psychology Master's Program has started accepting students for the 2023-2024 academic year.
Qualification Awarded
The student should complete all courses without any failing grades and a thesis, on condition that they fulfill120 ECTS credits. The student’s Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) should be a minimum 2.7 over 4.00

Admission and Registration Requirements
• Psychology undergraduate diploma or approved graduation certificate or provisional graduation certificate
• ALES minimum score of 55 (EA) or equivalent GRE/GMAT exam result document
• Documents accepted for English from foreign language exams accepted by the Council of Higher Education other than their native language and acceptable lower limits of success are: KPDS/ÜDS/YDS 60, IELTS 6, TOEFL (IBT 72, CBT 198-199, PBT 531-532). Students who do not have one of these documents must be successful in the English proficiency exam conducted by Istanbul Kültür University.
• Two reference letters (will not be requested for Istanbul Kültür University graduates.)
Success score:
For thesis-based MA program, ALES (EA) 50% + science exam score 10% + interview score 40%
The passing grade for the science exam is evaluated as 50 out of 100 points.
Candidates with a total score of at least 65 out of 100 points are ranked in the main and reserve lists, starting with the candidate with the highest score, taking into account the quota. The undergraduate general grade point average is taken into account for the ranking of candidates with equal total scores.

Double Major–Minor Programs There are no double major or minor opportunities in the Clinical Psychology Master's Program.
InternshipInternship is mandatory within the scope of clinical practice courses in the curriculum of the Clinical Psychology Master's Program.

International Cooperations
Occupational Profiles Of Graduates The number of expert clinical psychologists in Turkey is well below the determined need. Clinical psychologists can work with psychiatry on life events and problems related to periods such as emotional, mental and behavioral problems, adolescence problems, self-esteem problems in adulthood, old age problems and losses, as well as serious disorders such as depression and schizophrenia. Their research topics cover a wide range from psychotherapy to personality traits; from the development of phobias to the causes of schizophrenia. Clinical psychologists can work in academic settings, as well as in the health sector in mental health units/departments of private or public hospitals, psychotherapy or psychological counseling centers, rehabilitation centers and private educational institutions, non-governmental organizations providing clinical services, organizations conducting clinical research, workplaces, primary, secondary and higher education institutions that employ clinical psychologists, nursing homes, law and judicial areas (family courts, probation offices, prisons), and public health centers.

Access to Further Studies Students who graduate from the Clinical Psychology Thesis Master's Program can continue their postgraduate education at a university of their choice in Turkey or abroad, provided that they meet the admission requirements for a doctorate in Psychology.
Departmental FacilitiesThere are one full-time professor, two associate professor, six assistant professors and five research assistants who are experts in their fields in the Clinical Psychology Master's program. Our students have the opportunity to benefit from the mirrored interview room and Psychology Laboratories. In addition, in order to increase the course content offered, lectures are given by lecturers who work in various universities and institutions.
Program Activities Clinical Psychology Seminars are organized to which speakers who are experts in different fields are invited.
