Program Objectives

The aim of the Tourism and Hotel Management program is to provide students with the broad perspective needed by the tourism sector, to be professionally qualified, cultured, to be able to represent and promote their country well, to have knowledge of the concepts required by the age in the field of tourism and culture, to follow the developments and apply them in their own field, and to follow the changes and fulfill the requirements. To raise people who can bring One of the most important goals of the Tourism and Hotel Management program is to provide students with an education in line with the current strategic and sectoral developments they may encounter in business life and to prepare them for the business world by providing them with a management vision focused on the business life of today and the future.





Establishment

The Tourism and Hotel Management Program, which was established in 1997 in Istanbul Kültür University Vocational School of İKÜ, took its first students in the 1998-1999 academic year.

 





Qualification Awarded

 

  Students who have successfully completed all courses in the 2-year education plan and who have at least 120 ECTS are awarded with associate degree in Tourism and Hotel Management.
One of the following letter grades and / or symbols is given to the students by the instructor of the course.

Students who have successfully completed all courses and had at least 120 ECTS, has the associate degree.

Admission and Registration Requirements

Students are admitted to the Vocational School of İKÜ programs with the Central Placement Exam conducted by OSYM. In Central Placement, candidates are placed in the Tourism and Hotel Management Program by taking into account their TYT scores, preferences related to higher education programs and the quota and conditions of these programs. The records of the students placed in the Tourism and Hotel Management Program are made by the Registrar's Office within the framework of the schedule determined by ÖSYM.

Double Major–Minor Programs

 Students of the Istanbul Kültür University who undergo a successful education process can study in another program at the same time as the program they study, if they meet the requirements of the relevant CAMP regulations. Students who successfully complete the Double Major Program are eligible for two separate diplomas.





Internship

 In today's global world, countries' development level is measured by their knowledge and trained human resources. Unemployment is the most important problems of Turkey at the beginning. In contrast to companies who need qualified staff is an issue just as important. The young population is one of the greatest wealth of our country to meet this requirement if we are to make educated and business people who know the work of educators. İKÜ High School student at graduation requirement in all the business applications of the internship, students receive their education programs, in accordance with the selected organizations have gained business experience working in a certain period of time. This time, our school decided to be 60 working days, depending on the regulations. 

Internship, students work life programs, recognition and training offers the opportunity to see applications of their theoretical knowledge. 

Vocational High School students internship periods are typically periods of the sectors where they met. Students of the benefits afforded by this meeting;

Graduation Requirements

 Students are required to obtain a minimum GPA of 2.00 out of 4.00 in order to successfully complete and complete all of the courses in the Tourism and Hotel Management Program.They are also required to complete their 60 working days internship.





International Cooperations

 Our graduates who wish to continue their education abroad, in cooperation with Istanbul Culture University İKÜ Vocational High School's Centennial College in Canada and Fort Hayes State University in the USA. and IV. they can attend undergraduate completion programs by reading the year courses abroad. In addition, through ERASMUS, students have the opportunity to complete and complete internships abroad.





Occupational Profiles Of Graduates

Graduates of the Tourism and Hotel Management Program can work as "Senior and Mid-Level Managers" in hotels, holiday villages, food and beverage businesses, airlines, various transportation companies, the Ministry of Tourism, congress and conference centers, and tourism information centers that provide tourism services.

Undergraduate Education in transition, published in Official Newspaper No. 24676 dated19.02.2002 of Graduates of Vocational Schools Regulation on the continuation ofUndergraduate Education "in accordance with the principles of practice set by the Board of Higher Education, Vocational Schools programs, successful students who graduate from formal education degree programs related to the examination andmaking a transition to vertical placement operations are conducted by SSPC.

Program Activities

 Tourism and Hotel Management Program, students within the scope of the technicaltour Hotel Operations, Culinary Arts Academy, and visited some tourist companies. In addition, conferences and seminars in cooperation with companies operating in the tourism establishments are organized periodically.
