Program Objectives

Our country is a country that is a pioneer in the field of textile and fashion can contribute to professional, technical, and artistic attainments, fashion designers to cultivate.

Establishment

Istanbul Kültür University Fashion Design program accepted its first students in the 2013-2014 academic year, and students have been admitted to the evening education program since the 2015-2016 academic year.

Qualification Awarded

Students who fulfill all the requirements of the courses in the 2-year education plan successfully and gain at least 120 AKTS are given the Fashion Desinger Associate Degree.

Language of Instruction

 The medium of the program is Turkish.

Admission and Registration Requirements

It was built by OSYM with the Vocational School Program. In Central Placement, candidates are placed in the Fashion Design Program, TYT scores, preferences related to higher education programs and ÖSYM where these programs are not kept in quota and conditions. It is done by the Department of Business Design.

Double Major–Minor Programs

As a result of the evaluation of the applications made at certain periods of their education. Students, who succesfully complete the Double Minor program and receive the right to the Associate degree of both departments, are given two separate Associate diplomas.

Internship

Istanbul Kültür University Fashion Design Program students; In order to see the application areas of their professions in the field, and to use the knowledge gained during the training process, they have the obligation to do an internship for 40 working days

Graduation Requirements

 

In order to successfully complete all the courses in the Fashion Design Program with a total of 120 ECTS, the students are required to obtain a minimum GPA of 2.00 out of 4.00.

 

International Cooperations

Our graduates who wish to continue their education abroad, Istanbul Kültür University Vocational School in Centennial College in Canada and in the United States with Fort Hayes State University. and IV. they can attend undergraduate completion programs by reading the year courses abroad. In addition, through ERASMUS, students have the opportunity to complete and complete internships abroad.

Our students who graduate from the Fashion Design Program can work as a designer in the design departments, product development, research and development, collection preparation, and planning departments of public and private sector textile companies.Apart from these, our students who graduate from the fashion design program also have employment opportunities in design studios, fashion agencies, marketing, purchasing, brand management or customer relations departments and boutique fashion houses.

Graduates of this program can continue with the 4 –year degree programs mentioned below, if they become successful in the Vertical Transfer Exam

Departmental Facilities

Our students inside of the training period in addition to the theoretical courses, and they are mainly vocational and technical drawing courses, special drawing tale in classrooms, computer-aided fashion and mold the lessons in the computer lab, applied to mould and model the lessons of ready-to-wear in the workshop to be able to facilities.

Program Activities

Various trips are planned during the semester, which will bring together the program students frequently with the sector.
