Program Objectives

 The aim of the two-year program; train technical staff will work with opticians and gain the title of the optical industry.

Students who complete this program, Fundamental Physics and with optical knowledge, with knowledge about the functioning of the vehicle relating to opticianry and can use them also have enough knowledge about the anatomy of the eye and the human, capable of eyeglass-frame selection and installation, according to data submitted to it and for it can use optical instruments needed will graduated as a qualified optician.

Another purpose of the Optician program plans a management company providing services for optical, cost calculations and capable work programs, which can be marketed under the entrepreneurial spirit various products and be able to follow the innovations in the field could reach the language level, with social and ethical responsibilities required by the profession, the health measures related to profession heed is to give graduates practicing optician.

Establishment

Optician program, our university was founded in 2015 in Vocational School Campus İncirli and 2015-2016 Academic Year beginning, has begun training. The first degree program will give graduates the 2016-2017 academic year. 

 

Qualification Awarded

 Students who have successfully completed all courses and had at least 120 ECTS, has the associate degree.

Education continues face to face within the framework of YÖK decisions.

Admission and Registration Requirements

Accepting students to program of Optician, is made through central placement exam which is organized by the Student Selection and Placement Center (ÖSYM). In central placement, candidates is placed by ÖSYM through their Student Selection Examination scores and program quotas. The students’ registration is made by the Student Affairs Office within the framework of the calendar set by OSYM.

Double Major–Minor Programs

Optician programs are offered to students with other associate degree programs in Double Major Program. Information can be obtained from the program presidency.

Internship

 Istanbul Kültür University Optician Program students; profession in the field to see the application areas, in order to use the information acquired in the training process for 40 business days are required to do the internship.

Graduation Requirements

 Each student enrolled in the programme gains right to graduate with a minimum of ECTC credit and a minimum 2.00/4.00 GNO (GPA)

Students who graduate from programs with titles such as opticians can open their own optical shop can work as a responsible manager in opticianry institutions. In addition, they can work in the business makes and sells eyewear Opticians

Access to Further Studies

 According to regulation on the continuation of graduates of vocational schools to Bachelor Degree and principles that the council of Higher Education determined, vertical transfer exam and placement of graduates of vocational school students to bachelor degree is executed by ÖSYM.
  Students who graduated from Optician Program can make vertical transfer to bachelor degree to enhance their training to upper level.    VERTICAL TRANSITION AREA:   Physics
