Program Objectives

 The goal of the Unmanned Aerial Vehicle Technology and Operations program is to provide students with fundamental knowledge and skills in the field of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) and to develop competencies in designing, operating, and managing these technologies. The program also aims to raise students' awareness of the ethical, legal, and security issues surrounding the use of UAV technologies.
Students gain practical and theoretical knowledge on topics such as the design, assembly, maintenance, and operations of unmanned aerial vehicles. They also develop a broad perspective on the use of this technology in various fields. The UAV Technology and Operations program also equips students with problem-solving, leadership, and teamwork skills, enabling them to pursue successful careers in the UAV technology sector. To this end, students are expected to receive comprehensive training encompassing both technical knowledge and practical application.





Establishment

 
The Unmanned Aerial Vehicle Technology and Operation Program, established in 2025 under the Istanbul Kültür University Vocational School, accepted its first students in the 2025-2026 academic year.





Qualification Awarded

 Students who successfully complete all courses in the 2-year education plan are awarded an associate degree in Unmanned Aerial Vehicle Technology and Operation.

Admission and Registration Requirements

 Taking students to programs of Vocational School, is made through the central placement exam which is organized by the Student Selection and Placement Center (ÖSYM). In central placement, candidates are placed by ÖSYM through their Student Selection Examination scores and program quotas. The students’ registration is made by the Student Affairs Office within the framework of the calendar set by OSYM.

Double Major–Minor Programs

 Students in the Unmanned Aircraft Technology and Operations program have the opportunity to pursue a double major with other associate's degree programs. For more information, please contact the program director. Students in the Unmanned Aircraft Technology and Operations program can double major in the following programs.

 





Internship

 A total of 40 workdays of internship is required. These internships can be completed as 20 workdays at the end of the first year, 20 workdays at the end of the second year, or as a total of 40 workdays at the end of the second year.
Students in the Vocational School's Unmanned Aerial Vehicle Technology and Operations program are required to complete a 40-day internship in relevant fields.







Graduation Requirements

 Each student of the program graduates by completing 120 ECTS credits and achieving a minimum GPA of 2.00/4.00.

Occupational Profiles Of Graduates

 The purpose of establishing the İKÜ Unmanned Aerial Vehicle Technology and Operations Program is to ensure that the flight operations of all types of civil aircraft are planned, implemented, monitored, managed and controlled in accordance with national and international civil aviation standards, and to be seen as one of the most responsible professions in the airline industry.





Access to Further Studies

 After completing their undergraduate studies, our students have the opportunity to continue their education at the master's level by taking the Vertical Transfer Exam. Graduates who wish to continue their education abroad can participate in undergraduate completion programs by taking third and fourth semester courses abroad, in accordance with protocols Istanbul Kültür University has signed with universities abroad. Transfers are possible to the following departments: Aeronautical Engineering, Aviation Electrics and Electronics, Plotting, Aircraft Maintenance and Repair, and Airframe and Engine Maintenance.





Departmental Facilities

Education continues at the Incirli Campus of Istanbul Kültür University's Vocational School. This campus, which offers students the benefits of modern technology, also features a spacious computer lab.
