1. Program Vision

 

The program's vision is to be a nationally preferred educational program where graduates make a difference in the industry with their knowledge and skills, and train individuals who can adapt to constantly evolving technologies.

 

2. Program Mission

 

The mission of the Computer Programming Program is to train qualified professionals needed by the public and private sectors: those who are knowledgeable about software development processes, committed to professional ethics, prone to teamwork and problem-solving skills, and able to effectively use modern computer technologies.

 

3. Program Objectives

 

The educational objectives of the Computer Programming Program aim to equip students with the knowledge, skills, and competencies appropriate to the needs of the business world. The program aims to enable graduates to successfully perform in the industry, continue their professional development through lifelong learning approaches, and continue their undergraduate education.

 

Program Objectives (Educational Objectives):

 

EA1. Our graduates will gain application-oriented professional competencies in software development, database design, and information technologies.

 

EA2. Our graduates are individuals who are prone to teamwork, have strong communication skills, and can assume leadership roles when necessary, and thus actively participate in the IT sector.

 

EA3. Our graduates produce sustainable IT solutions that comply with information security and ethical principles.

 

EA4. Our graduates continuously improve themselves through a lifelong learning culture to adapt to technological advancements.

 

EA5. Our graduates acquire the academic qualifications to transfer to undergraduate programs.
   





Establishment

The Computer Programming curriculum was established on July 9, 1997, at the Vocational School within Istanbul Kültür University, in accordance with Law No. 4281. The program was conducted at the Şirinevler Main Campus from 1997 to 1999, the Şirinevler Faculty of Arts and Sciences Building from 1999 to 2005, and the Şirinevler Vocational School Building from 2005 to 2009. Since the 2009-2010 academic year, the program was based at İncirli Campus. As of the 2022-2023 Fall Semester, the program has been continuing its education at Ataköy Campus.  





Qualification Awarded

Undergraduate degree in Computer Programming is given to students who complete all theirs courses successfully in the 2-year course plan with 120 AKTS.

Mode of Education

 The Computer Programming Program is conducted in a formal education mode. The program offers face-to-face courses, supported by practical laboratory sessions, project-based learning, and industry collaborations to enhance hands-on experience. Additionally, online resources and digital learning platforms are integrated into the curriculum to provide students with flexible learning opportunities.






Admission and Registration Requirements

The Central Placement Exam in Computer Programming program with 70 students are accepted by ÖSYM. Insert in the center candidates Progarmcılığı Computer Program, TYT scores, higher education programs related to the preferences and quotas, and conditions in mind, these programs are placed ÖSYM'ce. Program of Computer Programming, records of the particular time frame set by ÖSYM made by the Student Affairs Office.

Double Major–Minor Programs

Students of the Computer Programming program have a Double Major with other associate degree programs. Information can be obtained from the program presidency. Internship

Training is compulsory for a total of 40 working days. These internships at the end of the first year 20, and as done in 20 working days after the second year in a total of 40 business days 2 can also be made at the end of the year.







Graduation Requirements

Which is available in the program (a total of 120 ECTS) to successfully complete all courses on a 4.00 weighted grade point average of at least 2.00 to achieve

Through the university Erasmus office, the successful students of Erasmus student mobility and the mobility of Erasmus student internship programs are provided with the opportunity to travel abroad.

Departmental Facilities

Our Computer Programming program courses are taught in state-of-the-art computer labs, using the latest software, with a faculty team of industry experts focused on projects and the programs they offer. Furthermore, our 40-day compulsory internship provides students with the opportunity to apply their knowledge to the market.





Program Activities

During our training period, we meet with officials from key institutions and organizations in the market and organize seminars and conferences to inform our students. We also ask these experts to explain and enlighten our students about the employment conditions for two-year graduates in the IT sector and the qualifications they seek in their employees. Our goal is to participate in joint projects with these organizations to ensure our students graduate as highly sought-after professionals.

 We organize seminars and conferences in cooperation with firms and institutions in the industry to inform our students about the market. We also request officials to explain the required employment qualifications for vocational school graduates. Our goal is to equip our graduates with the demanded qualifications by participating in projects with these firms and institutions.
