Program Objectives



Air conditioning and refrigeration is a field with a wide range of working opportunities. Employees in this field can work to create comfort conditions. When it comes to comfort conditions, the suitability of temperature, humidity, noise and fresh air conditions in indoor environments where one works or lives comes to mind. In addition, it is one of the duties of air conditioning personnel to properly store, transport and sell our animal and plant foods, which we call the cold chain, without spoiling until they reach our kitchen from the place where they are produced. Cold storages, freezing rooms, refrigerated vehicles, commercial and industrial refrigeration systems that make up the cold chain play a very important role. Manufacturing, installation and technical service of these systems are the duties of air conditioning technicians. Ensuring hygienic air conditions in hospitals and operating rooms can also be counted among these duties. Construction, chemistry, medicine etc. Cooling also plays a very important role in industrial areas. 

The need for trained human resources in this field is increasing day by day. The aim of the program is to train a strategic workforce that knows the technological developments that can meet this need. 
Learning Outcomes of the Program: 1. To have the ability to understand professional concepts related to Air Conditioning and Refrigeration Technology and to use these concepts effectively in business life, 2. To be able to use the design criteria that form the basis of the calculation methods used in air conditioning systems, the calculation methods used in building air conditioning, system selection principles according to building usage scenarios, and to have the ability to associate the latest technological developments in air conditioning systems with the job.  3. To have the awareness of acting in accordance with professional ethical principles,  4. To have the competence to carry out projects related to Air Conditioning and Cooling Technology,  5. To create and establish the infrastructure of the quality management system, to apply statistical quality control methods, to implement quality assurance and standards.  6. To be able to produce practical solutions to problems that may arise in professional matters and to gain the ability to make correct decisions,  7. Giving importance to research and development,  8. To raise expert individuals who embrace the importance of lifelong learning  

Graduation Requirements


In order to successfully complete all courses for a total of 120 ECTS in the Air Conditioning and Refrigeration Technology Program and graduate, students must obtain a weighted GPA of at least 2.00 out of 4.00. In addition, they are required to do an internship for 40 working days in order to see the application areas of their profession in the field and to use the knowledge they have acquired during the training process.

 
 





Establishment

 Founded in 1997 by Act No. 4281 Istanbul Culture University, Professor Director in 2008. Dr. Taner BULAT the management of Vocational School Air Conditioning and Refrigeration Technology Program has set up its first students in 2008-2009 academic year. The program began operation in 1998 Sirinevler Campus, Incirli Campus since 2009 is continuing its education life.

The program, air conditioning and refrigeration market, the COMCEC (Air Conditioning Refrigeration Education Advisory and Research Association), fridge, Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Technicians Room, and ALARKO, ISISAN-BUDERUS in cooperation with companies such as the market leading specialist elements required by the market continues to grow.





Qualification Awarded

 Success at the end of the semester Semester 3.0 and above average students, "Honor", 3.5, and the students on the "High Honor" is the degree.

Admission and Registration Requirements

 Air Conditioning and Refrigeration Technology program made by the Central Placement Exam with OSYM 30 (thirty ) are students. When placing candidates Central Air Conditioning and Refrigeration Technology Program,TYT scores, higher education programs related to the preferences and quotas, and conditions in mind, these programs are placed by OSYM. Air Conditioning and Refrigeration Technology Program of the particular time frame set by OSYM records made by the Student Affairs Office.

International Cooperations

Vocational School Students in the United States to Fort Hays State University, Ball State University and Technical University of Sofia within the framework of cooperation agreements with the license to complete the training can continue their education. In addition, through the university Erasmus office, the successful students of Erasmus student mobility and the mobility of Erasmus student internship programs are provided with the opportunity to travel abroad.





Occupational Profiles Of Graduates

Element is a sector in need of air conditioning and refrigeration industry. This rapidly developing sector in Turkey is increasing every day as a natural element in need of. In this context, without graduation than graduates find jobs. Which is the most important non-governmental organization in the industry to give great support and training to be carried out according to the model since the academic year 2011-2012 with the COMCEC students when they start school, will begin work on contracted companies with IKU. In this way, the sector needs to grow up in the sector will provide the elements.





Access to Further Studies

Published in the Official Gazette No. 24676 dated 19.02.2002 "Regulation on the continuation of Undergraduate Education of Graduates of Vocational Schools" in accordance with the principles and practice set by the Board of Higher Education, Vocational Schools programs, successful students who graduate from formal education in undergraduate programs (Mechanical Engineering and Plumbing Teacher) can make a vertical transition.





Departmental Facilities

4 days of the week the students work in the market firms have been supplying them the natural ability of a professional laboratory. In addition, Incirli Campus Computer, Electrical and Electronics laboratories located.





Program Activities

 

 

During the last training period, we had a technical tour to the factory of Friterm Thermal Appliances Industry and Trading Co. in Tuzla, one of the important institutions of the sector which is İSKAV member. After an information seminar on this tour company was given, we went through all the steps of the production department and informed them. It was a very useful trip for all of our students.
We also visited another technical tour Daikin Solution Plaza Fuha. In this tour, all of our students were told about all the new technologies on the subject of air conditioning and cooling, and seminars were given in many subjects. As a Daikin world giant, our students gave us very useful information in this regard.
