The aim of this course is to introduce and teach the research studies, resources and methods which needs to be done in order to identify the value and evolution of the structure and environment during the preparation of restoration and conservation projects. In this context, usage possibilities of the written and visual resources such as engravings, miniatures, historical maps, photos and so on. are discussed and the criteria to understand which of these sources will be reliable in some circumstances and which of them can be used and evaluated in the restoration and conservation works are set out. After setting out the sources and methods for conservation, to introduce the criteria for the use and presentation of international scientific resources are among the topics of this course. Following the completion of the theoretical content of the course, students have to prepare a report example which needs to be done during the preparation of a restoration project by using the methods and resources which they have learned.
