Course Goals
 The aim of this course is to help students acquire basic communication skills in Russian and enable them to express themselves in simple situations they may encounter in daily life. By the end of the course, students will be able to understand simple conversations using basic language structures at the A1 level, communicate using short and simple expressions, and develop basic reading and writing skills. In addition, students will be able to recognize the Cyrillic alphabet and read and write it with correct pronunciation.

Students who successfully complete this course will be able to:

1. Listening

·        Understand basic Russian expressions spoken slowly and clearly.

·        Recognize everyday expressions such as greetings, introductions, numbers, and directions.

2. Speaking (Spoken Interaction & Production)

·        Introduce themselves (name, age, occupation, nationality, etc).

·        Ask and answer simple questions.

·        Talk about daily routines and basic needs using short and simple sentences.

3. Reading

·        Read short and simple texts written in the Cyrillic alphabet.

·        Understand the main idea of simple announcements, dialogues, and messages.

4. Writing

·        Write short and simple sentences using the Cyrillic alphabet.

·        Write a short paragraph about themselves.

·        Fill in simple forms (name, nationality, address, etc.).

5. Grammar and Vocabulary

·        Use basic grammatical structures (noun genders, singular–plural forms, basic verb conjugations, etc.).

·        Use basic vocabulary related to everyday life (family, numbers, colors, food, professions, etc.).

6. Communicative Competence

·        Use appropriate expressions in simple social interactions (greeting, thanking, requesting, etc.).

·        Use basic communication strategies such as asking for repetition or clarification when communication breaks down.
