Program Objectives
The aim of Public Relations and Publicity Program is to train qualified, well-trained personnel who have ethical values and carry out the communication studies in accordance with scientific methods. In our program, doing practices in order to acquire skills is important as well as gaining institutional information. For this reason, in the first and the second term it is the importance is on basic information and in the third and the fourth term it the importance is on practical courses that will enhance the technical skills of the students. An internship is the important part of education.Training time is 40 business days. The internship period after the 2nd semester helps to understand the second grade professional courses.
EstablishmentIstanbul Kültür University, Public Relations and Advertising program of Vocational School was founded in 1999. In 2008, the name of the program was changed to "Public Relations and Publicity".
Qualification AwardedStudents who have successfully completed all courses and had at least 120 ECTS, has the associate degree.

Admission and Registration RequirementsTaking students to programs of Vocational School, is made through the central placement exam which is organized by the Student Selection and Placement Center (ÖSYM). In central placement, candidates are placed by ÖSYM through their Student Selection Examination scores and program quotas. The students’ registration is made by the Student Affairs Office within the framework of the calendar set by OSYM.
Double Major–Minor ProgramsStudents who want to expand their specialization areas can move to double major–minor degree programs.
InternshipIn the globalizing world of today, the development level of nations is evaluated by the information and qualified human resources they possess. One of the most important problems of Turkey is unemployment. On the other hand, corporations in need of qualified employees are also an equally important issue. Therefore, one of the biggest duties of the educators like us , our young population, which is among the greatest resources of our country, up into educated and competent people. Within the scope of Vocational School of Business Administration, internship i.e. Workplace applications, which is amongst the graduation conditions of each student, are the work experience that our students acquire by working for a period of time at an institution chosen in accordance with the training programs our students acquire. This compulsory period of time is 40 workdays depending on the regulations of our school board. The internship gives our students the opportunity to get to know the business life and to see the application fields of their theoretical knowledge they obtained.
Graduation RequirementsIn order to graduate from the program students must have at least 2,00 GPA out of 4,00 and 120 ECTS.

Occupational Profiles Of GraduatesGraduates of İKÜ Public Relations and Publicity Program can work in the communication and corporate communication departments of various institutions and organizations in the public and private sectors as well as in media, public relations and communication agencies, digital communication agencies in advertising agencies, media planning and customer representation.
Access to Further Studies The students graduated from Public Relations and Publicity Programme can do graduate transfer to related bachelor degree to move their vocational education to the highest level.

Departmental FacilitiesIstanbul Kültür University Vocational School, training is ongoing at Incirli Campus. Modern technology offers a possibility for students at this campus in a large computer lab.
Program Activities The Public Relations and Publicity Program often brings together the students of the program with the sector by hosting professionals in the field of communication at its events during the term. It also organizes various excursions during the semester.
